Les Echos: Basic Translation: Constellation does not rule on the sale of power plants to EDF

The board of directors of Constellation did not announce last Friday what EDF feared: namely the decision to exert the option, which would force EDF to purchase (11) fossil power stations in the United States,  for the double of their value. Constellation seems to want to continue the negotiations with its former French partner, to decide what could be done to avoid such an exit, which could cost EDF (2) billion euros. Last week, several voices had been heard in the United States, one of which was the powerful trade union AFL-CIO, whose funds, in the pension, controls from 7 to 10 % of the capital of Constellation. The AFL-CIO  asked the administrators of Constellation to give up this option. The next key date will be the presentation of the quarterly earning report of Constellation, next Friday, which could be the occasion for its leaders to take a position.
